Wood Rings

Staying away from concrete this week, we're going more to the warm, feminine curves of wood. Oh wait, I did something similar a couple weeks ago. Oh well.
Above is "Twisted Lights" by Erwin Zweirs. The handmade lamp starts with the top piece that is the base. Strips of bent plywood are applied around the perimeter creating shapes they couldn't have predicted. Each is an unique piece of art but adding the functionality of the lamp enhances the beauty of the form.
Unfortunately each lamp comes with it's own witch ghost (see photo). Sooo... there's that downside.
X out of the intro page of the website and click on Products to see other things. Clay table - totally weird and a little gross.

MTH Woodworks is a Canadian duo that uses salvaged wood and resin to create tables that give the users a connection to nature. They salvage the wood themselves and the Western Red Cedar could even be 600 years old! They then apply an organic resin top in such a way that exposes the shape and beauty of the wood base.
Above shows their Bloom Collection and there are other collections on the website.
